Impress Your Wife with This Whiskey Cocktail!

When it comes to sophisticated whiskey cocktails, I love this one. It's really simple and easy to make but packs a bit more of a bite than your typical Old Fashioned or Manhattan. This, is the Boulevardier.

// My Recipe
1 1/1 oz (44ml) Bourbon
3/4 oz (22ml) Campari (or less!)
3/4 oz (22ml) Sweet Vermouth

Add ingredients to ice filled mixing glass and stir
Strain into chilled coupe or similar glass
Add orange peel for garnish

// History of the Boulevardier
The Boulevardier was first recorded in 1927 by Harry MacElhone in Barflies and Cocktails and credited to American writer Erskine Gwynne.
It’s essentially a whiskey version of the Negroni—swapping gin for bourbon or rye to create a richer, smoother, and more warming flavor profile.
Originally made with equal parts, most modern recipes use more whiskey for better balance.
