.5oz (15ml) Rich Demarara or Honey Syrup (2:1 ratio)
.25oz (7ml) Fresh Lemon Juice

Lemon peel and cloves for garnish

Temper coffee mug or toddy glass with hot water. Add ingredients to glass and stir. Top with your favorite winter time tea.

// History of the Hot Toddy
The Hot Toddy traces its roots back to India, where the word “toddy” originally referred to a fermented palm sap drink, before British colonists adapted the idea into a simple mix of hot water, spirits, and sugar. By the 18th and 19th centuries, it had become a staple winter drink in Britain and Scotland. It's less a fixed recipe than a warm, soothing solution for cold nights and sore throats.
